Project 42 Radio

We like pop. We like soul. We like rock. (We're not sure about disco.)

We’ve recieved our first donation towards the Project 42 Radio Operating Fund. I’d mention them by name, but I don’t know if they want to be named, so for now, we’ll just say thanks.

In the future, we’ll acknowledge everyone who donates here, but only if you wish to be. Otherwise, we’ll just call you “Anon E. Moose” or something like that. As always, donations are strictly voluntary. Don’t give unless you’re able. We hope you like what we’re doing here, but in the end, there are always more important things to take care of first.

Thanks for listening!

–Don

We’re determined to keep the Project 42 Radio stream commerical-free. That being said, we still have to pay the light bill.  We pay for every listener connection and when the number of listeners increase so does the cost of bandwidth and licensing.

If you feel the programming here is worthy of a few bucks for providing a commercial-free music source and you have the means, please consider helping us offset the expense.  Let’s be clear about one thing: we only accept donations from those who are willing and able.  If you can’t or don’t want to donate, you can continue to listen to Project 42 Radio as much as you want.  It’s still free, and always will be. We’re here to share the music, not get rich.

Should you choose to toss a dime or two at us via the PayPal link, rest assured all donations and transactions are secure and go toward helping Project 42 Radio grow and remain commercial free. All donations are 100% voluntary but unfortunately–not tax deductible. In the future, we may also accept some promotional income through affiliate programs.  If that happens, we’ll make the ads as inobstrusive as possible.

Happy Valentine’s Day!

The folks here at Project 42 have made improvements here at the Secret Broadcast Cave. We’re now capable of having more listeners tuned in simultaneously.  We’re also done more tweaking to the doohickeys and frammistats to make our station sound even better, even if you have dinky little speakers on your computer.

There is a downside, at least if you’ve been listening via iTunes.  We’ve informed Apple about our changes, and until they get around to modifying our link in iTunes (and how long that takes in entirely up to them), you likely won’t be able to listen this way.  Until then, you can click on the big green “Listen Now” button on the top right, and you’ll be taken to our launch page.  You can listen through your browser, or click the icons under the web player to launch Project 42 in your favorite media player.

We apologize if you’ve had any trouble tuning in, and as always, appreciate any comments and suggestions you might have.

Our first-ever official real-live-person-behind-the-mike show will be Friday, January 29 from 9 p.m. to Midnight (CST).   We’ll be playing a lot of music and shooting a little bull.  The only goal is to have a little fun on the (internet) radio, and I hope you can be a part of it!

There are several ways to interact with the live show:

Our Facebook page (Project 42 Radio)

Twitter (Project42)

Or the old email standby (project-42-radio-AT-gmail-DOT-com).

Tell me what songs you’d like to hear, what you like about Project 42, or anything else you want to tell me.

Talk to you Friday night!

– Don

Project 42 Radio is now available on the RadioSure internet radio player.  This free software comes with links to thousands of internet radio stations around the world.  Get it here.

A great way to help the earthquake victims is Haiti is through donations to the American Red Cross. There are several ways to do so, including:

  • Calling 1-800-REDCROSS
  • Visiting their website
  • Texting “Haiti” to 90999 to donate. 100% of your $10 donation passes thru to The Red Cross. Your cell carrier keeps nothing.

You may also consider donation through organizations like Samaritian’s Purse.

We’ve changed things up to make it easier to keep you up to date on what’s going on at Project 42 Radio.  Okay, using WordPress also makes it easier on us.  So maybe we’re not entirely altruistic in this move.

This isn’t the permanent design, either.  We’ll spruce things up as we go along.  Think of it as buying a fixer-upper, and having to give the rooms a new coat of paint.  UPDATE: Painting is done.
